Mark Hutchins of Berkeley, California is the Founder and Curator of the Medical Marijuana Museum . Born in Ann Arbor Michigan he gained his early knowledge of cannabis, roaming the University of Michigan College Campus from 1971-1978. He learned art, poetry, ceramic sculpture, and drawing in that same time period. Following a thirty six minute grand mal seizure in 1978, the life he knew in Michigan came to an end. He became a true global traveler he went from Michigan to the tip of Chile in an eight year period, hitchhiking the whole way. In his travels he married a beautiful Peruvian, and came back to the United States to raise his daughter who graduated from The University of Michigan in 2004. He further gained experienced regarding cannabis touring with the Grateful Dead from 1990-2004.
He became a Medical Marijuana Activist following the death of his brother in 1990 from HIV/AIDS. From 1992-1994 Mark took his daughter to meet with Carl Levin of Michigan in Washington D.C. to express the need for legal medical marijuana. During the same time period he was also a volunteer in the Cannabis Action Network East. Being the contact for Central Florida he was an important player at all the hemp festivals in that region.
Personal Tragedies combined with a philosophy of good will helped shape Mark’s views on Medical Cannabis. Connoisseur and Activist; he is the most qualified individual to create and run The Medical Marijuana Museum . A non profit California corp.
